Living a Life of Love and Passionately Pursuing Christ

Dear Friends,

            I hope and pray this finds you well! I know some of you may have been thinking that I must have fallen off the face of the earth sometime in the past 8 months. I apologize for the lack of communication since I got back from my DTS. I would really appreciate it if you would take a few minutes of your time and read this. I would like to give you a quick update on my life.
As most of you know I returned from my two and a half month missions trip to India mid November. It was a bittersweet thing to leave. I fell deeply in love with the place and, most of all, the people. Even though by the end of my trip I was physically and emotionally ready to return home, I left a large piece of my heart back there.
When I got back, I went through allot of culture shock! Only the opposite of what I had gone through when I arrived in India, Going from living in a place with so little, back to a place with so much was incredible overwhelming!  I walked into Walmart looking for one specific thing and finding four different brands for that one thing. I just sat there and stared at them, trying to decide which one to pick. Ten minutes later I walked out of the store empty-handed feeling very silly that I couldn’t make up my mind. Now I look back at that and laugh, but at the time it was extremely discouraging! I just tell myself that I am on a journey to be like Paul, to learn the secret of being content in any and every situation, whether well fed or hungry, whether living in plenty or in want.
In January I went back to my old job working as an Office Manager for an electric company, and a little later on I got another job working with kids at the YMCA. I have spent the last seven months building relationships, working off the last of my outreach fees, trying to put some money in savings, and praying for direction for the future.
Because we have such an amazing Father in heaven, when we pray for direction, we eventually get answers. Which brings me to my next topic, the Future. God has told me to go back to Idaho and help staff the next Discipleship Training School (DTS) and spend some more time in India.
You may be curious as to what staffing a DTS involves and what value it has. Well basically I will spend three months of lecture phase helping the students learn more about God, hearing his voice, understanding his word, and learning to have a closer relationship with him. Then we will take those skills and teach them how to share it with others. During this lecture phase the students learn how much God values them, and they also learn to overcome hurt and brokenness from their own pasts. I will also be mentoring and helping prep the students for outreach. Then we will spend three months in India loving on people, using the skills we learned during lecture and spreading the gospel. That’s what I am going to be doing for the next year and a half, two years, provided the funds come in. I will be moving to Idaho to help staff the Fall Discipleship Training School on August 26th. I couldn’t be more excited! And Nervous!
Here is where I need your help, and where you can become a part of my ministry. Over the last few months, I have earned enough money to purchase my plane ticket to India, but that’s it. The cost of living for YWAM staff is $430.00 a month. As of now, I don’t have any support. I need people who are willing to support me on a monthly basis so that all this can be possible. So what I ask is that you take a few minutes out of your busy schedule to pray about supporting me either monthly or one time. Whatever you can do, or whatever God asks you. Anything helps!
Another way that you can support me is through prayer. Prayer is every bit as important and even more important then financial support. Instead of sending out newsletters, I will be updating my blog regularly. I would be so encouraged if you would come follow me, be apart of my adventures, comment and share thoughts. It’s always comforting to know that I am not in this alone. I will hopefully be posting updates, stories, and/or pictures once a week. Provided I have Internet that is. Also if you would share my blog with others, the more people on board praying the better. Prayer is a powerful thing!
